Conference activities and interaction between the participants

Dear All,
I am Roberto Graglia of the Politecnico di Torino, General Chair of the 2021 ICEAA/ IEEE APWC/ USNC-URSI RSM Organizing Committee. On behalf of the Steering Committee, of the Organizing Committee and of the Scientific Committee of these joint conferences I wish all participants a pleasant fruitful experience in the exciting topics that will be presented during the congress which takes place in a hybrid format (in person and remotely). We all regret very much that approximately two-thirds of the congress attendees will not be present in person to present their scientific results and attend the activities and social events scheduled in Honolulu.
Below I summarize the ways in which you can acquire information on the papers presented at the congress and (numbered from 1 to 3) the three different modes of interaction between delegates and participants that we have foreseen.
All activities will be accessible on the virtual platform from August 6th 2021.
Authors can use the same credentials used to upload their video-recorded presentation.
Delegates will receive their credentials from the Organizing Secretariat shortly.

As you know, a web platform has been created where all the video presentations are collected and made available only to registered participants, starting from August 6th. You will be able to consult this library online for about a year. The conference proceedings are on the online library only, and you have plenty of time to archive the papers and summaries that interest you. Conference proceedings will be made available on the IEEE Xplore library later, however long before the online library closes.

Live presentations in Honolulu are scheduled in a single session, for each day of the convention, both in the morning and in the afternoon. Live presentations are streamed and recorded. After each presentation, remote attendees will be able to ask written questions to the speakers via ZOOM webinar. To allow viewing by those in inconvenient time zones, the recorded presentations will only be available on the virtual platform for 24 hours after the presentation, subject to speakers' authorization.

To allow greater interaction between participants, taking into account the different time zones, we have planned to open non-overlapping ZOOM rooms lasting two hours on each day of the congress, from Monday to Friday. To better focus the discussion, we have divided the topics into different macro-areas, and according to the times shown in the Table (New York time - EDT)

Z1) USNC-URSI RSM topics Monday August 9 9-11 am (EDT)
Z2a) Electromagnetic applications I (ICEAA) Tuesday August 10 8-10 am (EDT)
Z2b) Electromagnetic applications II (ICEAA) Tuesday August 10 10-12 am (EDT)
Z3) Antennas and arrays (ICEAA-IEEE APWC) Wednesday August 11 9-11 am (EDT)
Z4) Computational Electromagnetics (ICEAA) Thursday August 12 9-11 am (EDT)
Z5) APWC topics Friday  August 13 9-11 am (EDT)

We expect the authors of the papers dealing with one of the topics listed above to attend the zoom meeting scheduled for it.

3) CHAT INTERACTIONS – until the end of September 2021

Last but not least, symposium attendees will be able to pose questions to Authors through the chat 1:1 or the moderated session/multisession chat. These chats will remain open until the end of September 2021 and, thanks to the active collaboration of all authors, they will allow a more direct interaction between interested parties.

The detailed programs of the Video Library, of the streamed sessions and of the Interactive Zoom Sessions are available now here below.

I take this opportunity to thank all the Authors, the Organizers of the Special Sessions and the Reviewers whose work has contributed to this conference edition, that I hope will be not less successful than the previous ones.

Cordially Yours,
Roberto D. Graglia
Chair of the 2021 ICEAA/ IEEE APWC/ USNC-URSI RSM Organizing Committee
