Criteria: The Department of Information Engineering of the University of Florence (DINFO) establishes the FEM 2018 Young Researcher Award Award to recognize the author(s) who, being 35 or younger, present at the FEM 2018 Workshop an exceptional paper in terms of content and impact on Electromagnetics. In selecting the awardee, other factors considered are originality, clarity and timeliness of the paper. Interested authors are encouraged to apply after carefully reviewing the following information to ensure their eligibility and ability to comply with application requirements and deadlines.

Administration: The award will be administered by the FEM 2018 Scientific Committee.

Eligibility: Candidates must submit electronically the final version of their accepted contribution to FEM 2018 according to the Conference standards by March 9, 2018. They must present their paper orally in a session of  FEM 2018. The persons eligible for this award are young scientists aged not more than thirty-five as of June 8, 2018.

Award Items: A solid gold “Fiorino” coin, authorized reproduction of the “Fiorino” coin minted by the city of Florence since 1252  and which was the preferred currency throughout Europe in the renaissance. The coin is enclosed in a plexiglass case with celebrative incision. Since the award announcement and presentation are made at the ICEAA - IEEE APWC banquet, all candidates are expected to attend the banquet.

Timetable:
1. March 9, 2018 – Electronic submission of abstract.
2. June 8, 2018 – full registration of those authors who are candidates for the award.
